Health Information Management Coordinator Job Summary:
  • Maintains knowledge of health information management (HIM).
  • Plans, develops, and administers the health information system.
  • Uses the EMR accurately.
  • Assists with auditing of the medical record, maintaining accurate medical record, filing medical records and keeping an appropriate supply of records.
  • Work is consistent with facility policies and procedures and all standards of accrediting and regulatory agencies.
  • Employee will perform duties personally or through subordinate employees.
  • Responsible for ensuring that all critical tasks are fulfilled on a timely manner.
  • Completes all other duties/tasks as assigned in a timely and accurate manner.
Health Information Management Coordinator Background:
  • Requires a , 2 or 4-year accredited institution certification or degree in any subject(s) related to data technology and/or human medical subjects.
  • Must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in the fields of medical data entry and maintenance, including full proficiency with medical coding.     
  • Requires a demonstrated ability to relate to diverse cultures and specifically Native American cultures.
  • Must have an interest in medical subjects, patient services/care, and customer service.        
  • Prior medical environment work experience is preferred.
