Audiology Technician Job Summary:
  • Works under the oversight of the audiologist in providing direct and indirect patient care.
  • Greets guests and signs in patients for their scheduled appointments.
  • Checks in supplies and hearing aids while managing the supply of all forms and non-medical supplies in the area.
  • Calls patients to schedule follow-up appointments and to re-schedule missed appointments.
  • Answers telephone, schedules appointments, takes messages, refers calls to appropriate area and updates patient information utilizing a computer.
  • Performs basic cleaning and check/repair of hearing aids for walk-in and scheduled patients.
  • Conducts Optoacoustic Emissions Testing or tympanometry without interpretation (objective test of middle ear function).
  • Performs basic pure tone air and bone conduction testing without masking or interpretation.
  • Reports problems with patients, staff or visitors to clinic manager in timely manner.
  • Performs equipment maintenance. Reports equipment malfunctions/breakdowns and hazardous conditions to clinic manager.
  • Performs other related tasks to assure smooth clinic operations and a seamless delivery of care to patients,
Audiology Technician Background: 
  • Requires an education level of at least a high school diploma or GED.
  • Current Basic Life Support certification required.
  • Hearing Aid Dispensing or Audiology Technician Licensure preferred.
  • Requires basic computer knowledge with typing accuracy, good telephone etiquette and excellent communication skills.
  • Requires knowledge of medical terminology
  • At least 1 year of directly related work experience.
  • Knowledge of HIPAA and confidentiality guidelines required.
